So it seems that the app is creating a new contact instead of keeping the most complete contact and updating it with info that does not match from the other contact being deleted- which would be a much better approach and help to reduce this problem.

The Notes section gets deleted even if both contacts had notes. Except when I merged the duplicate contacts it does not keep all the fields- I know for sure that the вЂњNotesвЂќ section gets deleted, and there could be other fields as well who knows. The suggested solution- to combine the two records into one or delete one of the records - is not helpful. First, the app counts any record that has the same phone number as another record as a duplicate record. It catches most everything and makes it relatively easy to clean up duplicates, delete useless records, etc. The app works well the first time it scans your contacts - especially if you have a relatively large database and have not used any similar product previously.
